The chains are splash-proof thanks to rubber seals around the sockets. Should a little water get into the sockets, the contacts are protected by a gold coating and do not rust. The mounting aids on the upper part of the lamp holder can be used for installation with nails or screws. Annoying adapters are not needed thanks to Swiss plugs. The wide flat cables ensure that the bulb sockets all point downwards when hanging.
